Huh......the barrels are smaller than I thought.

The cannon balls did minimal damage. It was the chain between them that was supposed to kill and maim.

During tests, the Gilleland cannon effectively mowed down trees, tore up a cornfield, knocked down a chimney, and killed a cow.

Blimey, that sounds like a really effective weapon...

None of the previously mentioned items were anywhere near the gun's intended target.

...oh. Never mind.

The small town I grew up in had one of these as a monument/playground toy in the city park. Like it was a real cannon, but the barrels were filled with concrete and it had a plaque on it telling you about it.
